K-9

This is K-9! This project was the longest project I have ever embarked on, it taught me a range of new skills that I will undoubtedly use during future projects. Here is a video explaining how it was made: https://youtu.be/61VF_H54KFM

The Lesson - Set Model

I decided to make this set model to practice working in miniature. I learnt many things during the course of this make, patience was called for constantly. If your try and work faster you'll only waste more time fixing the bad work you did before. The design ideas I had at the beginning of the project were constantly evolving and the set model began to take on a life of its own. Here is a brief description of the design style I was going for:   My design for The Lesson is set in the American West in 1867. The design is a realistic representation of the time period. I wanted the design to be as simple as possible so as not to interfere with the drama and emotion of the play. The cabin will be set at an angle to the audience, and will have the front facing walls removed so the audience can see clearly into the cabin. The small confines of this space will help to build on the tense atmosphere of the play. I chose to set my design in the American West because I felt that the brutal and harrowing themes of the play would be strengthened by the dusty, harsh squalor of the wild west.

The set model was made in the standard 1:25 scale and was designed for a black box theatre. Here is a list of all the materials used in the set model: Materials:
